Fire Blanket done!

Silly, I know, since it's just garter stitch, but it took me forever due to its bohemoth size and, well, me stopping to admire the color combos at each stitch.

Matt chose the mohair yarn. We now have the perfect movie blanket. It's superbly squishy and lofty and warm. All four fur kids are inordinately in love. I can't even keep Blackberry away!

Ohh....that does look warm and toasty. Love the colors too. Am I wrong but rabbit and mohair? That is too funny!

Usually Blackberry couldn't care less about my fibery stuff, but they ALL glom onto this thing. Matt has to wrestle it away from them to use it! Right now Peachy has it piled into a tall skinny mountain and is curled up on top.

We used to have a black rabbit too. It was supposed to be our daughter's, 12th birthday present, lasted 6 years, guess who got to see to it the most!

Friendly little tyke for all it used to chew things though.

Yeah, Blackberry was a real nibbler when she was a baby. Now as long as she has her unlimited hay she leaves our stuff alone. :)

I just ran into your post. i have also made a mohair blanket - aren't they the most wonderful things? Warm and toasty and light as a feather (comparitively speaking!). It is one of my dearest possessions. You can see it here if you like:

Yours just is gorgeous in the fiery colors you used so it's warm to look at as well. Just lovely!

Sharon, since it looks like you love mohair, too, here is my question. What to do with 5 skeins of luscious mohair that I bought in France three years ago just because it was gorgeous. The woman told me where to get the pattern she had used, but it was no longer posted when I got home. So I have been looking for inspiration ever since. Each skein is 50 grams and 100 meters. I should have enough for a sweater, but can't seem to find anything worthy of the yarn. I have almost settled on a shawl, but I know I wouldn't wear that as much as a sweater. Any ideas?

You've left no way for me to contact you!

I would say the pattern choice depends a lot on your gauge and the colors - is it solid? Subtle? Wildly variagated?
