Cold & Comfort

My camera has indeed suffered the January curse, but my cell phone grabbed these: Beautiful ice patterns on Wensleydale this morning, and Matt using the Plushinator as a pillow. Both were fast asleep and smiling (FatBoy smiles by sticking his tongue out the tiniest bit).

I winged them both. But the white one with the red design is easy peasy. Cast on 100 with worsted weight and work about three inches of k2, p2 rib. Decrease 2, then work the red in stranded knitting over a 6 stitch repeat (5 white, one red.) for what, four inches? Then drop the red, decrease four stitches every row (I put in stitch markers at 25, 24, 25, 2nd 24 stitches, and just k2tog every time I slip a marker) till there are 4 stitches or so. Break off the yarn in a long tail and thread it through the remaining stitches. Pull tight and fasten off.

The far-seeing hat uses an industrial component called “Lock line”, and glass eyes from a taxidermist supply company.

Sharon Rose has left a new comment on your post "Floods are subsiding,":

Love both hats!! Did you just wing them or are there patterns?
